Biography

Cynthia Kisser has been an attorney associate at Lawrence H. Hyman & Associates since 2000.  Prior to receiving her law degree, Ms. Kisser was the executive director of a not-for-profit.

Ms. Kisser holds a Juris Doctor Degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she also earned a certificate in Litigation, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.  She holds a Master’s Degree in American Studies from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in American Studies from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia (now Mary Washington University). While obtaining her law degree, Ms. Kisser was research assistant to the well-known professor Michael Spak and to Henry H. Perritt, Jr., then-President of Chicago Kent College of Law.

She is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois, focusing on personal injury and chancery cases.  She has both trial experience and experience briefing and arguing cases in the Illinois Appellate Court for the First and Second Districts.

Ms. Kisser is a member of the Illinois Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.  She has served as a member of the Amicus Curiae Committee of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. Her writings have been published in annual editions of the Employment Law Update, the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Daily News, the Law Enforcement News, and Skeptics magazine.

She was a co-presenter at the 2000 conference of the Academy of Criminal Justice Science.

Ms. Kisser’s practice focuses primarily on personal injury , business law and appellate work.  Ms. Kisser has written on legal and social issues, and has been active in professional and civic organizations. These activities include:
